The first episode of Lost Vikings was very popular in the '90s, but few people know that the Vikings had also sequel: The Lost Vikings II (the game was released under the name Norse by Norse West: The Return of the Lost Vikings). Despite the great popularity of the first part, game Lost Vikings 2 was not very popular. Don't get it wrong, the game is very good, it has a very entertaining gameply, it just simply came too late - four years after the first parts and in 1997 it was not enough. Once again we can meet famous trio of Vikings: Erik the Swift, Olaf the Stout and Baleog the Fierce. Game review

Everyone of them has their specific characteristics, same as in the first part, but thanks to a modern inventions, they gain some new skills.

The biggest change is the addition of two new characters. Wolf Fang is something between Baelog and Eric. He can jump, attack with his claws, and with the help of his claws he can cling to walls and thus climb them. The second new character is the dragon Scorch. He can breathe fire and fly to a limited extent. But even the original three got a lot of new abilities.

At the beginning of the game, our Vikings neutralize the robot and everyone takes a few improvements from it. So Eric can now also double jump and especially thanks to the mask he can dive. Baleog has traded his bow and arrows for a cybernetic arm that he can shoot a distance to catch objects that are normally out of reach. Unfortunately, even when attacking, it only has a limited range, if you want to shoot at a longer distance, you have to use Scorche if it's available. Well, Olaf got a fart as a special ability, with which he can destroy some blocks (just like Eric when he hits the wall in the first) and he can also use it to levitate and jump over some chasms. In addition, Olaf can shrink and crawl through various cracks.

There are a total of five environments: Transylvania, Dark Ages, Pirate Ship, Jungle and Sci-Fi, and the game is quite a bit longer than the first part. The levels are a bit smaller, but they are much longer and more extensive. In addition, I have the impression that the difficulty is also significantly higher. As far as the puzzles are concerned, so are the platforming parts.

The game is quite extensive, divided into 31 levels in 5 different worlds (for example, you find yourself in Transylvania, pirate world, or tropical jungle). Game has nice 3D animation movies, introducing the story. If you played number one and liked it, definitely give number two a chance.
