Every game genre has its own gaming legend, action shooters have Doom, real-time strategies have Dune 2 and C&C, and adventure game have beautiful cartoon game The Secret of Monkey Island (or Monkey Island 1). What is so amazing about this game? It's simple: everything! First of all, there's a great story: you play as a young boy named Guybrush Threepwood, who decided that he will become a pirate. To be able to become a pirate, he must complete various tasks and at the end uncover the secrets of the Monkey island. Graphics and music are also very strong points of the game and it is still a great pleasure to look at beautiful animation and wonderful background music. Fun fact: game has been inspired by attraction Pirates of the Caribbean in the famous Walt Disney World and at its launch in 1990 has become an absolute hit. The Secret of Monkey Island follows the "LucasArts Game Design Philosophy", so the player cannot die (with the exception of one easter egg) or get into a situation where they have to load an old position. The purpose is to entertain the player and not to punish him for mistakes (there is an allusion to this topic in the game). The dueling system, which is based on a system of insults and correct responses to them, became famous. Most of the puzzles in the game are also solved very well. There aren't too many items or locations, it's always clear what needs to be done and even the craziest puzzles (which aren't as many as in the second part) have their hint in some conversation or description. The branching dialogue system, where the player chooses between several available responses during conversations, allows the player to talk to characters in different ways without fearing a wrong choice and is often used as a humorous device.
