Microsoft je nejen společnost, která vydává operační systém a kancelářský balík, ale od začátku 80tých let se soustředili i na herní trh a přišli s mnoha úspěšnými hrami. První samostatnou závodní hrou, kterou Microsoft vydal byla hra Monster Truck Madness. Hra se zamierava na zcela zapomenuté téma v počítačových hrách - Monster Trucky a MS pojal hru velmi dobře, soustředil se reálně podání hry, kvalitní grafiku a velmi dobré zvuky (celou hrou Vás provází opravdový komentátor Monster Truck Závodní - Army Armstrong). Na výběr je celkem 15 různých aut a několik herních módů: drag (klasický "sprint" na 100m), okruh (jízda na asfaltovém okruhu), rally (jízda na terénních tratích) a nakonec turnaj. Hra staví především na originalitě závodů, avšak hratelnost a ovládání aut nejsou zrovna nejlepší a grafika se radila na svou dobu spíše k průměru.
