Game review

In 1997, insane doctor Proton has developed mechanical beings known as Techbots through which he wants to conquer the whole world. There is only one hero on Earth who can stop their weapons and attitudes: Duke Nukum. This game laid the foundation of all the famous Duke Nukem series, which subsequently showered us with great messages like Hail to the king baby. This game is still in 2D platform environments, and later developed into a 3D game environment. Gameplay is similar to Keen game series, but here you will miss the pogo.

The Duke Nukem series begins here, with the 1991 2D platformer consisting of 3 episodes: Shrapnel City, Mission Moonbase, and Trapped in the Future. In the role of Duke, who tries to stop the evil Dr. Proton, who in the near future (in 1997) has built his army of TechBots to take over the world, you'll run and bounce through LA (in episode 1), look into the secret moon base of Dr. Proton (in episode 2) and you'll be watching Dr. Proton to the future (in episode 3) where you will fight him to the death.

Right from the start, you have a gun at your disposal, which can be used to gradually multiply the amount of lightning fired. In crates along the way, you can find health-replenishing items (when you shoot a turkey leg, it swells and gives double health) and various items that increase Duke's score on the way (floppies, radio...). Other items that Duke must pick up on his way are colored keys that open the way to the exit to the next level, a robot hand that extends the platform, jumping shoes, etc. Your steps are monitored by hidden cameras and managed by Dr. Proton.
