Any good RPG must be built on a solid story and so it is in this game: Your old teacher Mordamir disappeared and was probably kidnapped. Old teacher will appear to you as a spirit from a candle and tell you: "Dunric, please come and save me! I am in the dungeon far below and I know that I can count on you!". It seems strange, because your name is not Dundric, but even so, you have no other option, but go on the rescue mission. You go out from the small room and go through dungeons, where there are a lot of traps, monsters and pitfalls awaiting (flying arrows from the wall, pitfalls, etc..).  …read more

You are the brave sorcerer, and the isometric, action-fantasy adventure game you're about to embark on was notable for its extraordinary gore and difficulty at the time of its creation. However, this is not just a dull dungeon crawl. There's more here, from Dunric's daughter helping the old man with dungeon pitfalls, with whom the relationship can develop into something more than a purposeful friendship, to RPG elements in the form of branching conversations, sleeping on pieces (saves) and inventory. There are also multiple endings, based on major decisions made throughout the game, as nothing is as it seems and evil takes many forms.

The name of the game can be somewhat misleading. The multi-level dungeon is full of traps, aggressive trolls and goblins, and your wizard is fragile. When a fight occurs, the game switches to a profile view of both opponents. The game is hard and unforgiving, the gameplay is based on the "trial and error" method. It is necessary for the player to learn to use appropriate tactics against each type of enemy and recognize all traps in time. Passive environmental traps include, for example, arrows shot from walls, or a ravenous worm lurking in the floor. The dungeon is not only teeming with hostile creatures, there are also plenty of people stuck here who need help. In a more advanced stage of the game, you can even make an alliance with goblins or trolls.

The game is quite a difficult and apparently you can not pass it right on the first try. If you are unable to overcome a trap, you start from the beginning of the level, which can sometimes be quite frustrating. But once you overcome this challenges, you'll find a great old RPG game.
