Have you ever been fishing? Ever wanted to go to the fish on the sea? You wanted to catch large sea fish? All of this will you be able to do in Big Game Fishing - this is a simulator of fishing on the high seas. And you need to start much from the beginning as an real fisherman - purchase an equipment. In fact the game is not just about catching fish itself, but you are gonna need a strategic plan ahead (for example, you have to buy gasoline to ship to your journey and the long voyage at the beginning do not have enough finances) and then go hunting. When you finally go fishing, you must properly handle the pole and try to catch the biggest fish there is, so you earn the most money.

The storyline is straightforward yet somewhat realistic: you play as a businessman who has run into financial trouble, taking a much-desired vacation on an unremarkable island. Due to your financial situation, the only way to extend your vacation beyond a single day is by catching enough fish to cover the costs of boat rental, fuel, and other necessary expenses.

The game begins on the shore, where you can purchase bait, fuel, and other essentials from a store before heading out to sea. Fishing requires a blend of reflexes and strategy: you must carefully plan your route, pay attention to the weather, observe seagulls, and use a sonar scan to find fish, seizing the right moment to catch them.

The need to sell fish to afford boat rental and other expenses for the following day introduces an engaging strategic element to the gameplay. Larger fish bring in more money, but they are found in the deepest parts of the ocean, which demands a significant amount of fuel (and therefore money) to reach. This situation essentially limits you to fishing near the shore at first, saving any money you make to afford more distant fishing trips later on.

In summary, Big Game Fishing is a solid fishing game that might not satisfy hardcore fishing enthusiasts seeking utmost realism and precision, but will be very enjoyable for everyone else. Just like in real life, fishing in the game requires a great deal of patience, so don’t expect fish to bite immediately after you cast your line.
