The gaming world is very differnt from the filming - one significantly example is how successful the sequels are. While in movies sequels tends to be more boring and less successful, in the gaming industry it seems (to me), that the sequels are often more successful and better than the first game (e.g.: Prehistorik 2, Dune 2, Settlers 2, Half-Life 2, etc.). One of the most successful sequel is Street Fighter 2, whose first part is known only thanks to this continuation. Street Fighter is fighting game Mortal Kombat style, where you can choose from eight characters: Ryu, Ken, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Chun Li, Guile and Dhalsim. Then you have to fight the rest of them. If you can manage to beat the remaining seven characters, you go into the fights with four main bosses: M. Bison, Vega, Sagat and Balrog. Each of the participants of the tournament has it's own story and come from a different country. Each one of them has a different reason, why to participate and win the tournament. There is also a movie inspired by this game, but it has not been very successful. …read more

The game offers several game modes. The first is the traditional single-player mode, in which the player must overcome a series of battles to reach and defeat the main villain. Another mode allows two players to compete against each other. These modes can be further customized by setting the difficulty, which also affects the final ending of the game. Completing the game on a higher difficulty level than the base unlocks a special ending video that introduces the character you completed the game with; otherwise the game ends immediately.

In each fight, it is necessary to win two rounds. If there is a tie after two rounds, a decisive third round follows. It can also end in a draw, for example if both players are injured in the final blow and their lives drop to zero. In this case, the game will advance to the fourth round, and in some earlier versions of the game there may be more rounds. Defeating a certain number of opponents also unlocks bonus levels where you can destroy a car, for example. These levels increase your score.

The game features light, medium and heavy punches and kicks, each assigned to a different button. Your opponent's energy is reduced depending on which punch or kick you use. Each character also has special punches that you activate by a combination of controller movements and buttons for punches or kicks. You can also throw your opponent over the head or otherwise incapacitate them.

In the basic version of the game, you can choose from eight playable characters from different countries, each with its own specific arena. Choices include: Ryu, Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, and Dhalsim. As for the opponents, first you have to defeat the basic ones and then you will unlock four more special bosses: Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison.
