If you loved flight simulators in the early years 90's, you had to focus on games, developed by Digital Image Design. TFX - Tactical Fighter Experiment is one of their most successful simulators. Unlike game Aces of the Pacific here you don't have a choice from many types of aircraft, you can choose only 3: the Eurofighter, the F-22 and the F-117. While 3 planes were simulated, the internal cockpit for all 3 were the same layout. TFX also featured a virtual cockpit mode, although the cockpit itself was more sparse in this mode. However, this is enough, because the game main focus is on the real conditions of the fight in the air. You have to prepare every aircraft before your flight and equip it with weapons. The great advantage of this game is beautiful graphics and a selection of game modes (Training, Arcade, Simulator, Tour of Duty, Flash points and Un Comander - own campaign missions). Computer Gaming World briefly reviewed TFX in February 1994, calling it "the most advanced flight model yet" due to the many factors taken into account in the simulation, and further called it a simulator for "purist[s]".
