Many turn-based strategy released back in the 90s were based on the real board games and so was the game 1830: Railroads & Robber Barons, where the main task is to build a railroad empire. Although at first glance it would seem that the game is similar to Transport Tycoon, the gameplay is entirely different. While in TTD, the main goal is to build tracks, buy new trains and focus on transportation, 1830 is focused on administration and economy. Since the game is based on principles of a board game, graphics is not so good - you play on the hexagonal playing field and track tokens. Compared to other train simulator, here you have to focus on administration of the company and trading, manipulating the stock market. You must closely follow the development of all the shares of individual companies. You should know when to buy stocks and when to sell. The main goal here is to make money, so sometimes, you have to sacrifice your own company's shares to earn the most.
