Dam Busters was a DOS game developed to simulate the famous World War II RAF mission known as Operation Chastise, where RAF Lancaster bombers were tasked to destroy German dams using the innovative "bouncing bomb." The game aimed to provide a realistic portrayal of this historical event, allowing players to experience the mission from the perspectives of different crew members within the bomber. The Dam Busters is an early flight simulation set in the WWII era. As the commander of an Allied Avro Lancaster bomber, the player is tasked with safely transporting his aircraft deep behind enemy lines and hitting strategic targets in night raids. This effort is thwarted by the ever-present enemy aircraft, which can be shot down with on-board machine guns from the aircraft's gun turrets. From the bomber's point of view, it is then necessary to manually ensure the accurate delivery of the cargo to the designated targets. There are three campaigns available in the game, the goal is to get the highest score. The title was also released on the Coleco Adam, ColecoVision, MSX and PC-98 platforms.
